Richard has been the owner of Carolina Mountain Sports for over twenty-seven years located in Statesville, NC. Prior to that, he was a photojournalist in the United States Coast Guard for over twenty years. Richard has a bachelors of science degree from Western Carolina University.

I love his dry Bob Newhart sense of humor and his knowledge of smallmouth bass habits particularly in the New River drainage system. I wouldn’t doubt if someone told me the fish come to him when he calls.
