FreeBasic info / Necessary equipment:
That’s right Fly-fishing for stripers, big trout, smallmouth and even perch.
This is a paddle trip only. You must bring your own kayak/canoe.
Ensure you have all necessary safety equipment.
We’re talking about striped bass, so 9ft/5wt or better is advised.
Trout and Smallmouth Bass are also present in the river
Flies:
Streamer/minnow patterns should be your primary consideration for stripers
Standard big river patterns for trout
SC freshwater license is required
3 fish 23-25 inches may be kept (one fish may exceed 26 inches)
The typical water level makes this trip an easy-to-moderate paddle.
There are opportunities to park and wade or even fish from shore in some spots.
We will take our time fishing our way upstream.
The fishing doesn’t have to stop as we casually head back, letting the current do the work.
Expect 4-5 hours on the water.
